Our elderly client had advanced dementia and was living in a memory care unit in an Assisted Living Facility. The unit specialized in providing a higher level of monitoring, attention and care to elderly persons with significant Alzheimer’s and/or Dementia. Despite knowing of our client’s tendency to wander and get agitated easily, facility staff allowed him to wander into another resident’s room and start a fight. Our client’s hip was broken during the fight and he died a short time later.
